VOLUNTEERISM - EXPANDED HORIZONS EVENTS THAT BROUGHT THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER
PRG Services’ community services projects were developed so that our students can receive invaluable insight into the workings of community volunteerism. One of our objectives is to help our students understand how food is prepared and how to safely prepare it for consumption, and teach them how to contribute to society by helping to feed others. Also, they are being taught the value of growing vegetables from our garden and how to organize a clothing drive to help those who are less fortunate.
An old adage states
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime".
Our projects are inter-related and have been established around what we teach. Our students will carry these invaluable lessons of community involvement and self-preservation with them long after they leave the program.
